Biking With the Birds Ride

To celebrate Vancouver’s Migratory Bird Week you’re invited to join Bird Studies Canada’s Catherine Jardine and members from the HUB Cycling Delta Committee for a guided bike tour through the beautiful fields of Westham Island, an agricultural area specially managed to promote wildlife habitat for migratory and overwintering birds, to the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

The group will meet in the parking lot of Wellington Point Park in Ladner at 10am on Saturday May 6th to begin a 12km (return) bike ride to and from the bird sanctuary, the trip will include a 45 minute guided walking tour of the bird sanctuary (entry fee $5) for those who are interested. We’ll be stopping on route as well to enjoy nesting Bald Eagles, foraging Great Blue Herons and the plethora of migrating songbirds that pass through this area during their journey North.

Registration is capped at 20 people so reserve your spot today!

Each rider will be required to sign a waiver and will be riding at their own risk.
