Burrard Inlet Harbour Tour

Join us for a waterbird’s eye view of Burrard Inlet and learn about the birds that use the coastal habitats alongside port operations. Andrea MacLeod, birder and manager of the port authority’s environmental programs team, will guide a birding boat tour of the inlet and talk about Port of Vancouver’s operations and environmental programs. This is a great opportunity to learn about the birds that live in #myportcity.

The Fraser River Delta Important Bird Area (IBA) is crucial to globally significant numbers of birds that rely on the delta for food and shelter. Despite of this IBA’s biodiversity value it is under immense development pressure from a myriad of factors as we increase our footprint on the land, so much so that it was recently designated as an IBA in Danger. What can be done to save this IBA? Can we live in harmony with the delta or will we continue to destroy it? What do we see as a future for this incredible jewel that we live around. Join Dr. Bradley for an exploration of these themes at the Van Dusen Gardens on Wednesday 10th May at 7:30pm

Registration is limited and photo ID will be required. Please contact Andrea at 604-353-3866 to register.
